Summer 2007!
by Jon on Sep.24, 2007, under Camping, General, Holidays
It turns out that there was a summer this year. Unfortunately it was only one weekend long, so I’m glad we made the most of it.
The weekend before last Vicky and I went camping on the south coast with a couple of friends. On the Saturday we visited Corfe Castle, Lulworth Cove, and Durdle Door. The weather was amazing, and I even got a touch of sunburn!
Unfortunately I’d lent my little camera to my friend Steve, who’d gone walking in the Lake District, and I didn’t take my SLR with me. However, we did get a few pictures on Vicky’s camera.

Catching up with 2007

I’ve been pretty lazy with my diary this year. It’s not that I’ve had nothing to talk about, or no pictures to upload, I’ve just not yet found the motivation to do it.
Anyway, to get things rolling, here are a few photos of what you’ve (not) been missing.
Me on track at Cadwell Park, back in June 2006:

Making Muffins
by Jon on May.15, 2006, under General, Holidays
When I boarded the plane in Heathrow, the last thing I expected from my holiday was to learn to cook lots of new things. How wrong I was!
Today I made my very first batch of muffins. Carrot, Cinnamon and Orange Muffins to be precise. Here’s a picture of the finished article:
Hello from the Caribbean!

We left Stourbridge at about 4am on Friday morning, and by 6am we were standing at the British Airways check-in desk in Heathrow’s Terminal 4. Our flight departed on time at 9:50am, and before long we were well into our in-flight movies.
There was nothing spectacular about the 12 hour flight from Heathrow to Grand Cayman. I passed some time taking pictures of clouds, with this one being one of the best:

We had a 1 hour stop at Nassau in the Bahamas to drop off some passengers, before continuing on to Grand Cayman. This is a sand bar just north of Nassau:
Grand Cayman
by Jon on Jan.09, 2006, under General, Holidays
Last night Ann and I booked our flights for our summer holiday. We’re off to Grand Cayman in the Carribbean in May for a couple of weeks to visit my sister, brother-in-law, and nephew.
Luckily, British Airways have an offer on at the moment, so the flights were only just over £400 each! Bargain.
Now we just need to sort ourselves out with diving licences, and we can go dive the reefs and wrecks in the Carribbean!
\o/ Hmm, must get an underwater housing for my camera too.
I really can’t wait to go. Not only for the holiday though. It’ll be brilliant to see Thomas for more than a weekend for once. It’s all very exciting!
