Summer 2007!
by Jon on Sep.24, 2007, under Camping, General, Holidays
It turns out that there was a summer this year. Unfortunately it was only one weekend long, so I’m glad we made the most of it.
The weekend before last Vicky and I went camping on the south coast with a couple of friends. On the Saturday we visited Corfe Castle, Lulworth Cove, and Durdle Door. The weather was amazing, and I even got a touch of sunburn!
Unfortunately I’d lent my little camera to my friend Steve, who’d gone walking in the Lake District, and I didn’t take my SLR with me. However, we did get a few pictures on Vicky’s camera.

Beachy Head!

As the nights draw in, the weather turns colder, and things generally become more miserable, I thought it would be nice to remind myself of something from the summer.
On September 24th, Ann and I were down in Sussex for my cousin’s 18th birthday party. We’d driven down a day early and camped overnight, so that we could make the most of the weekend, since the party wasn’t starting until the evening.

Trangia Trangia Trangia …
by Jon on Jul.18, 2005, under Camping, General, Holidays
I’ll start by explaining the rather random title of this post.
Up until now, Ann and I have been using a gas stove whilst camping on which we could only boil a kettle since we had no pans. So, she went to get some pans, and made a joke with a guy in the camping shop holding up a £50 Trangia and asked “How much discount could you give me on this?”. The chap was so helpful, that Ann walked out with a £50 Trangia, and matching kettle, for only £15. Bargain!
Wales!
by Jon on Jun.01, 2005, under Camping, General, Holidays, Motorbikes
Due to a rather shocking lack of funds at the moment, the idea for this summer’s holiday is to spend a week camping in France on the bikes.
As a prelude to this, we went camping last weekend in Wales as a sort of test run with the new tent.
